Chirpy Stories
The Shaky Bridge Help
This is a gentle short story about helping others, even when you feel scared too.
Button Planet was full of bright, clacking buttons that clicked under everyone’s feet. Tiny bridges made of round buttons connected one hill to another.
Sona the Sparrow zipped through the sky, delivering little messages of encouragement. “You can do it! Keep going!” she chirped. Tito the Toucan fluttered nearby, asking cheerful questions about everything he saw.
One day, they heard a tiny voice from below a bridge.
“Hello? I’m stuck!”
They flew down and found a small chipmunk on a wobbly button bridge. The middle buttons moved and shook whenever he tried to walk.
“I’m scared,” the chipmunk said. “If I move, I might fall.”
Sona’s wings trembled a little. She was secretly scared of shaky bridges too. She usually flew over them, not on them.
Tito looked at her. “We need to help him,” he said softly. “You’re the best at giving courage, Sona.”
Sona took a deep breath. “Okay… I’m scared too,” she admitted to the chipmunk. “But we can face this together.”
She landed gently on the bridge. It wobbled. Her heart jumped—but she stayed.
“Hold my wing,” she said. “Take one tiny step at a time.”
Tito flew just above them, talking in his bright, silly way. “If you wobble, just wiggle! Wiggle-wobble-walk!”
Step by step, they crossed:
Sona facing her fear,
the chipmunk holding on,
Tito cheering from above.
When they reached solid ground, the chipmunk smiled. “Thank you for helping me, even when you were scared too.”
Sona felt her chest glow. “Helping you made me braver.”
