In the Smiling Jungle, Sara and Isaac were building a leaf fort in their treehouse when the sky suddenly grumbled. Dark clouds rolled in, and rain began to tap-dance on the leaves. A tiny hummingbird, its feathers sparkling like a lost jewel, fluttered helplessly as its nest swung wildly on a thin branch.

‘Oh no!’ whispered Sara, her nose pressed to the window.

Isaac pointed, his finger wobbling a little. ‘Look! The nest is doing the twisty-twirl in the wind!’ Thunder boomed again, and they both jumped. The little bird looked so scared, trying to tuck itself into its shaking home.

Sara took a deep breath, puffing out her cheeks like a frog. ‘Being scared is okay,’ she said.
‘But let’s make a super-secret rescue plan. Rushing out would be like trying to catch soap bubbles in a hurricane!’ Isaac nodded, a small smile peeking through.

Just then, Rafa the Rhino stomped over, making gentle puddles with his big feet. ‘Need a roof?’ he rumbled kindly. ‘My back is as strong and dry as a toasty biscuit. Hop on under!’

Ollie the Owl landed on a branch, his feathers fluffed. ‘Hoo-hoo! Storms are just the sky having a big, noisy bath,’ he explained. ‘Bravery isn’t about not having wobbly knees. It’s using them to take a step anyway.’

So, the rescue team assembled! Rafa led the way, his back a perfect living umbrella. Sara guided from the side, Isaac kept his eagle eyes on the nest, and Ollie flew above, hooting cheers like a feathery coach.

I’ve got it!’ Isaac squeaked, remembering. ‘A perfect dry tree-cave, just over there!’ The friends huddled close under Rafa, the sparkling raindrops bouncing off him as they shuffled toward the spot.

Working together like puzzle pieces, they gently moved the tiny nest and its relieved bird into the cozy hollow. As they placed the last twig, the rain stopped. The sun peeked out, painting a rainbow.
Sara grinned. ‘See? Our hearts were beating like drums, but we still did it!’
