The Lantern Festival twinkled with magic as Hannah, Ava, Emily, and Zoey began their favorite game, ‘Lantern Seekers.’ They giggled, searching for hidden glow-stones among the colorful crowd.

Hannah listened to excited shouts, Ava waved to shy kids, Emily checked her list, and Zoey peeked under flower pots.

Suddenly, a new boy named Leo appeared. ‘I found one!’ he called, holding up a stone from behind a tricky lantern post. He found it so fast!

Leo kept winning easily. ‘How did you know that was there?’ asked Ava, her eyes wide. Leo just shrugged. Hannah noticed he looked worried when others couldn’t find stones.

During a cookie break, Hannah saw Leo quickly unfold a paper map when he thought no one was watching. ‘Psst,’ she whispered to her friends, ‘I think Leo has a secret helper!’

Ava smiled. ‘Leo, be on my team!’ Emily remembered the rule: ‘No secret help, that’s what makes it fun.’ Zoey bounced up. ‘I found glowing mushrooms! We could use them for new spots!’

Hannah gently approached Leo. ‘Do you want to share your map? Then we can all play fairly together.’ Leo looked at his shoes, his cheeks turning pink.

Leo showed his old map from last year’s festival. ‘I just wanted to win,’ he admitted softly. The friends gathered under a giant paper lantern, their faces glowing in its warm light as they studied the map together.

They created new hiding spots using Zoey’s magical mushrooms. Leo helped hide stones in sneaky places. Everyone laughed during the next round. Being honest made the game more fun for all, and including their new friend Leo built a sparkly bridge of trust.
