Crystal School sparkled with bright windows and shiny hallways that reflected tiny rainbows. Nadia walked slowly through the entrance, watching everything with her careful eyes. Asher bounced beside her, full of imaginative ideas. Isaac followed quietly, noticing tiny details no one else saw. Carson wandered ahead, exploring new corners of the school.

This week, their class was responsible for taking care of the Crystal Supply Box—a special case filled with art tools everyone needed.

“Let’s all take turns,” Nadia said softly. Asher puffed up proudly. “I’ll carry it today! I can handle it.”

But after recess, the box was missing. Isaac scanned the ground. “Where did it go?” Asher froze. “I… set it down to look at a crystal. Then I ran off. I forgot the box.” Nadia placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. “Responsibility means admitting mistakes.”

Carson stepped closer. “Let’s retrace your steps. Maybe it’s still nearby.” They followed Asher’s memory—past the playground tree, over the bridge, around the crystal garden. Isaac suddenly pointed. “Footprints. Someone picked it up.”

They found a first-grader sitting on a bench, happily coloring with supplies from the Crystal Box. Carson lifted a hand. “Hey! That box belongs to our class.” The younger student’s ears drooped. “I found it on the ground… I didn’t know.”

Asher took a brave breath. “I left it behind. I’m sorry. But you can still borrow supplies if you want.” Nadia nodded. “Next time, we’ll stay responsible together.”

They returned the box to their classroom thoughtfully. Asher asked to carry it with a buddy from now on—one small change to help him stay responsible.
