The Sweet Welcome in Cupcake City
This is a short story about comforting someone sad and how gentle kindness can make new places feel safe.
Cupcake City smelled like vanilla every morning. Frosted rooftops sparkled and candy-colored doors lined each street.
Luke walked happily believing each day held something good, while Mia followed with her steady smile. Tito the Toucan fluttered above and Rafaela the Raccoon trotted beside them.
At the city edge they found a small bunny with a droopy suitcase and shiny, worried eyes. Luke whispered that she looked sad and Mia suggested they gently say hello.
They introduced themselves softly. The bunny said she had left her old home and didn’t know anyone here, making everything feel strange.
Tito swooped down offering to show her the sprinkle fountain, Rafaela asked if she lost anything important, and the bunny showed a crumpled photo of her old home saying she feared she wouldn’t fit in.
Mia sat beside her reassuring her that it was okay to feel sad and that she wouldn’t be alone. Luke invited her to sit on a cupcake-shaped bench so they could show her around slowly.
Tito told a silly story to make her smile, Rafaela found her a cherry sticker for her suitcase, and Mia stayed close so she wouldn’t feel lonely. Luke reminded her gently that good things can start small.
By the end of their walk the bunny’s ears stood a little higher and her smile grew warmer.
