High on Blossom Sky Island, Gigi the Giraffe stretched her long neck and spotted something that made her heart twinge. ‘Look!’ she whispered to her friends, her voice warm as sunshine. ‘A new student is sitting all alone at the rainbow lunch table.’

Rafaela the Raccoon peeked over, her clever eyes curious. Tiko the Tiger listened quietly, while Nini the Nightingale fluttered nearby.

Some friends whispered, ‘Sitting with the new kid might make us look uncool.’ Tiko’s ears drooped. He remembered his own first day, feeling like a wobbly jellyfish in a sea of strangers.

Just then, Rafaela found a sparkly pencil case under a bench. ‘This must be theirs,’ she said softly, noticing the new student’s sad, droopy shoulders. ‘They look so lonely.’

Tiko spoke up, his voice gentle. ‘I felt new once too. Lunchtime was the scariest part—all those empty chairs.’ His words hung in the air like little bubbles of truth.

Nini fluttered her wings and sang a sweet, tinkling song about kindness. The melody floated through the air like butterfly kisses, making everyone pause and wiggle their toes thoughtfully.

Gigi bent her long neck down. ‘True friends respect others,’ she reminded them gently, her spots twinkling. ‘They don’t judge by silly whispers.’ The friends looked at each other, realizing this small choice was a big one.

Tiko stood up bravely, his tail swishing. ‘Being kind is always the right choice,’ he declared. The others nodded, their hearts feeling as light as dandelion fluff.

Together, they walked toward the rainbow table. All four friends joined the new student, sharing silly stories and giggles. They passed a giant chocolate-chip cookie, their smiles as bright as the island’s blossoms. In that moment, they learned that respect means reaching out, even when your tummy does a little flip.
