Riri’s Glowing Courage
This is a short story about a brave decision and how a shy rabbit uses her speed to save a friend in need.
In the magical Forest With Dolphins, Riri the Rabbit had the fastest feet but the most nervous heart. She zoomed through trees, delivering berries to friends, always too shy to stop and chat.
Zino the Dolphin leaped joyfully in the river, while Pip the Parrot chattered advice from above.
One sunny morning, Riri heard faint cries while delivering berries. She followed the sound to the forest river and peeked into a hidden underwater cave. A baby dolphin was stuck inside!
Zino tried to help but couldn’t fit through the narrow entrance. “Oh dear!” he said, swimming worried circles. Pip flew down, squawking, “We need the wise old turtle’s glowing seaweed! It can light that dark cave!”
Riri trembled at the thought of asking. But she remembered her friends needed her speed. Taking a deep breath, she raced through the forest, her heart pounding like drums.
She found the turtle napping on a warm rock. “Please help!” Riri said clearly, explaining the emergency. The turtle smiled and gave her glowing seaweed that sparkled like magic.
Riri raced back, holding the bright seaweed underwater. It lit up the dark cave like a star, making the water twinkle. Zino gently nudged the baby dolphin to safety.
The baby dolphin reunited with its family, splashing happily. Riri’s friends cheered, “You’re our hero!” She felt a warm glow inside, bigger than any fear.
That day, Riri learned that being brave doesn’t mean you’re never scared—it means doing what’s right even when your heart is racing. And sometimes, the fastest feet can carry the biggest courage.
