The Sorry Letter Secret – Short Story About Respecting Boundaries

At Starfire Camp, Mason, James, Liam, and Mia were best buddies who loved exploring the night sky. One sunny afternoon, Mason spotted a wobbly bolt on James’s special telescope. ‘I can fix that!’ he thought, reaching out without asking.

Suddenly—oops!—the telescope slipped from his hands and landed with a sad crack on the ground. Mason gasped. James stared at his broken treasure, his eyes wide and shiny.

Mason felt awful all day. ‘I want to say sorry,’ he mumbled to Liam by the campfire, ‘but the words are stuck in my throat like a giant marshmallow.’

Liam grinned. ‘Try writing an ‘I’m Sorry’ letter. My words play hide-and-seek sometimes too!’

Mia led Mason to a quiet spot under a big, friendly pine tree. ‘Shhh, it’s your secret writing cave,’ she whispered, tiptoeing away.
