The Cloudfruit Choice
This is a short story about respecting parents and how listening shows care even when choices feel tempting.
Cloud Jungle floated high above the treetops, its fluffy bridges and glowing vines swaying gently in the sky breeze. Pia the Peacock walked proudly along a cloud path while Milo the Mongoose, Rafaela the Raccoon, and Sabi the Snake moved beside her with their own curious energy.
Pia wanted to pick the rare sunrise cloudfruit to decorate her nest, but her parent had reminded her to take only one so others could share.
When she reached the glowing branch, three perfect cloudfruits shimmered in front of her. Milo encouraged her to grab the brightest, and Rafaela even offered to carry more, but Pia remembered her parent’s words.
Sabi reminded her gently that respecting someone means listening, even when you feel tempted. Pia hesitated, torn between excitement and responsibility.
Milo and Rafaela stepped back, telling her the choice was hers—and that her parent’s feelings mattered too.
Pia took a deep breath and chose just one fruit, realizing the rule wasn’t meant to limit her but to help everyone enjoy the harvest fairly.
She carried the single cloudfruit home, and her parent smiled softly, thanking her for listening with respect.
Pia felt a warm glow inside, proud of the choice she made even when it was hard.
